I am looking for some kind of plastic protector to prevent fingerprints and other stuff from showing on the glossy lid of the dell inspiron 14r. I noticed ZAGG had an invisibleSHIELD which seems to be the perfect item i need but they only have one that fits an inspiron 1420. I think it should fit the the newer inspiron but in not sure

Have you checked eBay? It seems like the guys over in Hong Kong make a cheap screen or body protector film for just about any product known to man.

If not, I'd say just live with it and occasionally wipe off the lid with a micro fiber cloth.

I was worried about the gloss lid on my Acer AS1410 netbook when I first got it. But you can't keep it super clean all the time. Eventually you learn to not let it bother you. :)

One of the things I would be looking out for too is the durability of the protector, and the Invisible Shields are some of the best you can get. Cheap chinese protectors dont really compare with the scratch resistance and such...

Don't even go near that Chinese crap.

I bought protective material for my laptop and they sent me an envelop full of toxic liquids on the protective material that smelt so bad I almost threw up.

You're going to end up destroying your lid with this toxic bio-hazardous crap they sell with no regulation, not to mention, probably cause health risks to yourself and people around you.

Edit: Most screen protection companies use Aussie locations as a "front" but actually ship from Hong Kong/China, so don't be fooled :p
