Is there anything out there for cleaning a glossy screen and keeping it clean? The best I can do with a microfiber cloth is clean it with a few water smudges remaining, and the moment I close the lid the screen is dirty again.

I used a moist kleenex before and after that a dry kleenex. Moistened in warm water and a little bit of antibacterial handsoap but you can barely tell its moist and you can hardly tell there's soap in there. I also wipe off the keyboard and the rest of the case. Don't let anything spill in between the screen and the surrounding bezel, inside the speakers or around any button. Unplug AC adapter and remove battery just in case.

I would not use tissue on my screen it`s made of wood pulp and can scratch your screen, just buy a good branded anti-static lcd screen cleaner and some good quality microfiber cloths.

The dirt on your screen can scratch your screen more than a kleenex does. I've done it before and screen look in top notch condition.

Off-topic... thanks for that smartdefrag program you recommended ... good program I still use it.

Just use google, don't cheap out, buy a big brand, so you can sue if it damages your screen.

    LMAO, love the justification.

Twiz57, I have many objections to Kleenex. Even if it's unlikely to damage my screen, there's still the whole paper dust residue problem.

I agree, call me cheap. The dust is hardly visible to me but if you must have the perfect LCD screen you should get something for the static.

Old English makes these moist wipes for furniture that I use with an micro fiber cloths and they do wonders!

Old English contains lots of nasty solvents that will damage your screen, as well as silica which will scratch. Tissue is also evil because of the low-grade wood pulp.

    I would recommend:
    1. Compressed air to remove loose dust.
    2. Microfiber cloth for more persistent dirt. Use water to moisten the cloth if you need to.

There's a lot of products to buy out there for cleaning the screen. I prefer using a microfiber cloth and water. Perhaps a little soap if it's necessary.
