I'm getting the new sager 2090 and need a good cooler and bag for it. I want a relatively cheap cooler + bag but whatever you guys think is best. As for the cooler I have been thinking mainly about the Spire Pacific Breeze cooler but I like to lay on my bed and use my laptop sometimes and that cooler seems like it wouldn't work to well any suggestions?

As for the bag the sager 2090 comes with a 9-cell battery that sticks out about 3/4 of an inch...so will that make any differnce to what bag I should get? I want a carring case that I can just put around my shoulder and maybe have it be able to carry what ever cooler you guys suggest ;)

I am somewhat biased in this area But I can tell you with certanty
Attached fans should have an external power source without it
the laptop power supply justs adds a another load to it and must
work harder. If the ventilation system in the laptop is poor to begin
with then the added load may be ok as a trade off.
Otherwise ALL laptops cool significantly better if placed at an angle
on a flat surface. (chimney effect of laminar cooling)
A few things most people overlook entirely 1. They place a laptop on a
couch or bed or on their lap if the intake fans are blocked or restricted it severly impedes cooling in any laptop.
    2. Screen breakage is another problem that can be avoided with a properly
designed laptop cooling system. Fromt he top of the cover to the front of the
lcd is usually 1/4" or less If you travel and carry a laptop in a soft case Impact to the top is transferred to directly to the screen causing it to break which is never covered under a standard warranty.
After 25 years in the business
The only practical solution I have found is to address both problems
is to make my own. You can see if this meets your needs
I have not cut corners on any of the materials but have been able to
offer this at an even lower price than before from 32.00 to 24.00
and I do offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

Please take a quick look at my product.

Pros: Great product!!!! fans throw out a killer breeze cooled laptop all the way up through the keys! + they look super sweet with the blue lights.
Cons: an A/C adapter would be nice lots of power consumption, says low power usage but its not :( had to return product becuase of that.

I'm going to buy this backpack: the Samsonite University. It's extremely durable, it's quite beautiful in my opinion, with a block of foam put in the laptop compartment the laptop is more than safe (the backpack does not protect the laptop at the bottom of the backpack sufficiently, but it will with a small block of foam under the laptop) and it's very very comfortable! The only downside is the need for foam but this is easy to fix and it's cheap! 50 euros in the Netherlands, it will be 60 in the US. I really recommend it!

Edit: on buy.com the Samsonite is 25.00 dollars  . They only have the pumpkin colour but it's still very cheap (why is it so expensive here in the Netherlands? Argh!).

I'm getting the same model laptop but I've decided to attempt a diy solution for cooling. I'm just thinking about various solutions right now:

As for the backpack, I can't say much except that I recommend avoiding bags that scream "expensive laptop inside!" I also need to look into bags myself. I'm not sure whether I'll want to continue using my old backpack or get something new. I'm thinking that maybe I can just buy a good laptop sleeve and perhaps add some strategically placed padding to my old backpack.
