I'm looking for suggestions here. I want a good mic and decent sound.
I went to my local Best Buy to check out headsets/headphones... I had my eye set on the G35 the whole time and I purchased it (plan to return it... come on 140$ when I can get it 100$ online) to try it out.
But I wanted to know about these types of headphones that have plush cushions I believe? I was trying on the headphones there and I like the feel of this type of cushion. I can't recall which headphones specifically, but I felt them on a pair of Sony headphones, Bose headphones, and one which is specific is Beats by Dr Dre. How well do these types of cushions hold up? Do they get hot after a while? I felt that they were pretty comfortable, but don't know how they would feel after extended use.
Actually found the bose pair of headphones that I believe have this type of cushion:
Amazon.com: Bose On-Ear Headphones - Headphones ( ear-cup ): Electronics
I think it's comfortable and is really good for noise isolation.

Try the alienware tactx, they have a retractable microphone and sound very good and are comfortable. They also go on sale for like $50.

I don't believe those use the cushions i''m looking for.

MDR-XB700 | Extra Bass Headphones - 50mm | Sony | Sony Style USA
Major comfort and MAJOR eat pads...hours and hours of wear with NO discomfort...as well EXCELLENT audio. My only recommendation! -
You're going to have to be more specific...the headphones in your link look like faux-leather ear cushions, which the TactX headset seems to have as well. The majority of headsets have this sort of cushioning. Either faux leather, or cloth cushioning.
Check out the Razer Carcharias. It comes with cloth cushions by default, but you can order faux leather ones if you like. -
The headphones AndroidVageta provided are the types of cushions I was talking about. I think the TactX has velvet plush, as they look similar to my Creative Fatal1ty cans. Faux leather then I suppose?

I like a lot the feel of Audiotechnica,
Audio Technica ATH-AD700 Velvet pads and open headphone.
Audio Technica ATH-A700 faux leather and closed heaphones. -

I have a pair of Sony XB300s (the extra bass headphones) and they are quite comfortable to use for long periods. I was basically looking for something light and comfortable and while I was at various stores testing the comfort levels, the Sony XBs won me over due to their oversized, sofa-like cushions. However, I was on a tight budget and would have probably went for the larger XB500 or Audio Technica A700.

yup yup. Those cushions are very comfortable and noise cancelling.

The DT770's are said to have some of the most comfortable pads on any headphone. They aren't plastic(or pleather) so your ears wont over heat and sweat.
-
I use the MMX 300 (as well as the G35 - and to a much lesser extent, the PC 350) and I' not sure I agree with that. While they feel nicer on the skin than most pleather pads, there's no evidence to me to suggest they're any better at keeping your ears cool.
To the OP - the Sennheiser PC 350 is less clampy than the G35 (+ lighter) and therefore feels more comfortable, but personally I find it not as good an all-rounder headset than the G35. -
. I'm sure BB can afford it.
The G35 is a little bit tight, but I don't think it's really making me ache or anything, I just notice it. Maybe after a while it might get a little bothersome since I wear glasses, but not much. I also really like having the G1-3 to use as a media player. Mic quality is pretty decent too.
But i'm just wondering if there are better options for me atm... I'm so lost. So indecisive...
Also wondering if it's worth the 100$ (for me with coupon) or should I just go for cheaper options like plantronics gamecom 377 -
I think i'm sticking with the G35. Found a dented box deal @ logitech for 70$ total after tax, that's half the price I paid at BB. http://forum.notebookreview.com/not...ound-headset-65-free-shipping-dented-box.html

I think it's an excellent headset, with a very good combo of Stereo sound quality from an actually acoustically isolated (as opposed to merely closed-construction such as the Beyers and even to an extent the Sennheiser PC 350) headset, immersive if not that usefully accurate 7.1 in modern games (not so hot in old titles like CS:S) which give you an additional dimension, good mic pickup along with decent comfort for once again a closed phone - and it's priced right for what it is / what it does. I even like the way it looks, and there are nice touches such as the swing-up / auto-off boom. -
Just if BOSE made a gaming headset! We all would be in heaven! ! ! !

But yeah... I'm sure they'd do a fair, if overpriced from the hardcore enthusiasts point of view, stab at it - but it's not their target market.
Good Headset with plush cushions?
