I have a quandary... I will be taking my M17x r2 overseas for quite some time. I ordered it configured from Dell as a RAID 0 system. I am not new when it comes to dealing with RAID systems. I am aware of the inherent risks involved with this.
Normally I would NOT do that as that I deem it risky behavior. To alleviate some of my fears I have been considering purchasing an external 2TB BU drive. I do want the extra capacity as that I pretty sure that I will need additional space.
A further requirement being that the BU drive has eSATA connection. I have thus far only come across 1 solution that fits the bill, but maybe I am missing something. I hate buyer's regret.
I was looking at Seagate's BlackArmor WS 110 2TB.
Anybody have a better suggestion?

The eSATA drive on the M17z has a USB/eSATA combo port, right? Might be worth your time to get a single-cable enclosure and just pick up a 500GB drive to stick in it so you don't have to plug an external enclosure into the wall or even use a second USB cable to power it. Not to mention that 2.5" drives are much more ruggedized than their 3.5" cousins, so they're more resistant to travel and banging around. I wouldn't want to travel with a 2TB external... very heavy and fragile. Maybe pick up a couple enclosures if you need the space, but I really would not want to try traveling with a NAS like the WS 110. Just seems like a very bad idea. They aren't made to travel, they're made to be plugged in and sit on your network.
Good eSATA BU Drive?
