I just got an email today from Pakuma. You know those tight looking bags found here: http://www.pakuma.com/
Well before you could only buy the bags in the UK. But the email I got from Christian Drew the maker of the bags he said they are going to US customs right now and the bags should be in available to us sometime during the first week of August. I plan to buy one and I will keep you guys that are interested in the bag in touch!

Actually, i've ordered computers from the US and duties turned out to be less than the taxes i'd pay here. Duties turned out to be around 8%, while taxes would have been 15% (14% now in Ontario).

So overall, with the decent exchange rate, it ended up being cheaper to buy from the US. Only apprehension is about post-sale customer/technical service.

there really is not that much difference between these and crumpler bags IMO. I just don't know why anyone would go through such a hassle just to get these pakuma bags when crumpler has almost identicle looking bags.

Man, I emailed them a couple weeks ago and never got a response. This is great to hear though, I've been dreading possibly having to buy one from the UK and pay the terrible exchange rate conversion. I just hope that they aren't any higher priced here than they are there.

As far as the comparison with Crumpler bags, there are a couple major differences that I see. For one, there is only one true backpack that Crumpler offers that fits a 17" notebook. That is the Customary Barge...and it costs $180. Pakuma sells three backpacks that will fit my 17" notebook, and all of them are much more reasonably priced.
