I'm planning on getting an Xbox and hooking it up to my computer monitor with the VGA cable. The monitor doesn't have speakers so I'm wondering if you guys can recommend a good but cheap set of desktop speakers.

    Thanks!

Since you want a cheap set, I'm thinking some 2.1 speakers fit the bill. Maybe try the Creative Inspire T3100? Circuit City has a good deal on them right now. Read some reviews on it. http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=880495
Otherwise, I use Logitech X-240 and those are decent too. Either one can be had for about 20 bucks after rebates when they're on sale.

    Edit:
I agree with |crash| about the Z-2300's. It just depends on what you think is cheap... Personally I don't want to spend that much on speakers but that's just me!

Sorry I didn't mention the price. I was thinking around $50 tops. It's meant to be just a temporary solution but I'd like to get the most for my money.

I recommend the Logitech Z-4 as well, but that's $60 on Amazon...

However, if you're looking for a temporary solution, why don't you just buy some cheap-o speakers at Fry's or something and save the extra money for a better set in a few weeks/months/whatever?

I would definitely go for something cheap if you're planning on getting better speakers down the road.
