Well after I started kicking around on this forum, I started to think about geting a notebook cooler. The store had 3 to choose from, one had 4 adjustable fans, another had 2, they were 35-40 bucks. He told me he had somthing better, He came out with a "Kelly Portable Notebook Stand"
for $24.99 I said well it only has the single fan, he replyed you could throw in 8 fans and it wouldn't work at well as this. I asked if I wasnt happy could I bring it back, he said yes. So I said sold.

He said its the design and the fact thats its the single wall aluminum sheet, it disapates heat like crazy, unlike the other models which simply just throw up air and it has no where to escape.

There are some pics. I have a IBM thinkpad r31 it runs a little warm even at idling if I leave it on for a good chunk of hours. I ran the HDtune programe, even at idle it would creep up to 105F and while using if it would go to 115F

With this little cooler, it wont even hit 92F runing somthing like an antivirus which is spinning the HD like crazy,it idles at a cool 85F
the strange thing is the notebook is actully COOL to the touch, I no longer even get a hotspot on the top of it. where the HD is its about room temp, every where else is cool to the touch like I siad above.

Im extremely pleased with it and it was a great buy, it only has one little usb port on the back but its not a big deal eye for and eye I guess.

    thats my little review!

Thats a cool one with a large looking fan.

    Where did you buy it?

Can you give a link to the retailer?

How loud is the fan? I presume the USB connector is to power the fan, and that there is no direct power connection? Also, what're the dimensions? I have an Acer Travelmate 8104 that is about 14.25" x 10.25" (L x W). Not so much concerned with edge overhang on the sides, but more front to back.
