Hey everyone, after debating 5.1 vs 2.1 for a few days and reading reviews and checking out prices at Future Shop.ca...i had a gift card from Christmas, i decided to pull the trigger on these.

Only thing i didn't like was the $235 CDN price tag. So with a little searching on shopbot.ca, print out the best price...and courtesy of future shops 10% price guarantee i got em for a little over $120 CDN !!!

So heres a pic of them setup in my room, scuse the mess, about to paint the walls...

I kept them sort of temporary cause i want to take them out to listen to dvds and stuff on the bigger tv and play x box. And then theres my amp and delay pedal with 4 wires each so yea its a mess...

I hooked them up to the 5.1 receiver upstairs and m parents were so impressed that they got a set for themselves too, they wanted a compact set for the living room to use with the in wall speakers for a clean uncluttered look. They sound amazing through the receiver, makes my Toshiba P-100 sound average in comparison, but still great. Tons of power through either the laptop or receiver, haven't really had them up past 1/3 power. Had the straighten every picture on the main floor after the sub test with the receiver.

I'm definitely not an audiophile...just know "sounds freaking good" when i hear it. And with my price shopping they were a very reasonable price...but o yourself a favor and hook them up to a true a/v receiver to really give them a workout.

Nice choice. I was looking at those hard, but decided on the X-230's for lack of money. I've heard nothing but good things about the 2300's though.

As long as you like the purchase it's all gravy. Plus, you got a great price on them. Futureshop really has it for $235CAD? That's pretty high. good thing you had shopbot.ca.
