The thing with HDMI cables is price does not matter. Its all 1's and 0's so if it works than it works. A good place to buy them is monoprice.com

Monoprice rocks. Check out their HDMI switches too.

Not quite. Computers are all 0s and 1s, but when you overclock, it doesn't just stop working. It usually becomes unstable.

Low quality cable can cause ghosting from signal reflection and pixelation from signal drop. For a short run Monofold is usually fine, for a long run, Monster fared better.

Someone did a review on this. (engadget maybe?)

Just get generic cables like the ones at newegg.com or frys.com for less than 20$ (mine was 12$) its digital not analog. Its going to work or not work there is no sutch thing really as "high quality" its just a cheap trick to get you to spend extra money for no reason.

Perhaps you should put this in perspective. If you're talking about 25+ ft lengths, then it's irrelevant for most consumers. Then they can safely go with generic cables from sites such as Monoprice, etc.

Yes thats right - for distances of 3-6 ft, any cable will work regardless of quality. For longer distances you do need a higher quality cable but that doesnt mean you need pay for the extremely overpriced monster cables. Blue Jeans cables are highly regarded as a great quality cable for longer distances

I dont know if engadget has one, but I know AVSForum has about 100 reviews on this

if we are thinking of the same review then monoprice cables are fine for most people, because when they did their tests the "short" run was 50 ft and the "long" run was 100 ft considering most people are running their cables considerably shorter distances than 50 ft monoprice should be fine

It says right in HDMI/DVI spec your not supposed to use a cable that long, its not about the quality anymore, use a shorter run or get a signal booster/relay.
