I'm trying to hook up my Asus G2S-B2 (running winXP) to my Dell 21" LCD via HDMI to DVI. When I enable the monitor, it comes up green and garbled and it's using the native resolution of the monitor (1680x1050) so I'm somewhat puzzled.

    Any help would be appreciated.

It could be a faulty cable. Check if you have another pair to use on your monitor.

It's a brand new cable and I have nothing to test with.

What I'm wondering is if there's a difference between HDMI to DVI vs. DVI to HDMI. I'm assuming it's like any other video cable and should work both ways.

Never mind, I got it. Double checked all the connections and tried it again. Working fine. Thank you :)
