This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hey guys,

    I'm considering purchasing a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-950 however I live in Australia so am concerned whether a card that works in the US can still pick up HDTV signals over here (I'm a complete HDTV newbie). I'm also going to canada for a few months soon so will need it to work there too.

    I'll be running with a CD T2350 (1.86ghz) and realise it will be pushing it with HD but I'm not too concerned with HD, i just want a portable tv really.
