I noticed my television, a Sony 65" has the ability to pick up HDTV channels without requiring any satellite or cable suscription. This means it is picking up free digital channel frequencies correct?

If so, I was wondering, if there is something I could buy for my laptop to do the same. I know I will only get the basic channels but that is all I really watch anyway.

is there any card or product out there? Can someone link me? Thanks big time!

Several. I use AutumnWave's OnAir GT USB HDTV tuner. A bit expensive but their software and support are excellent and it's had 64-bit Vista drivers for quite some time now. It'll tune both over-the-air and unencrypted digital cable HDTV channels, and analog too.

You can get a TV tuner internal card and an external antenna. You should have those interfaces in your laptop.

The AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX seems like a pretty good deal for half the price. [IMG]

The also have an ExpressCard version.

However, I've never used AutumnWave's products, so I can't really compare them.

    EDIT: I've found some reviews.
