i saw this item on ebay and at other sites and was wondering if anyone here has used it? or heard of it?

i have googled reviews on this but have not seen anything out there yet. and it seems to have been out for a while already.

does it really work? does it keep the laptop cooler?

    thank you all.

I've seen some people have it. Many said it wasn't compatible with their port, and even the ones that did have it said it didn't help much because it's not sealed and exactly fitting. If it was just like that, it'd just suck in air from around the hole instead of from inside the laptop since there's no seal.

I believe that device only pushes air through the pcmcia port, so if the cpu is not close by than the device will do practically nothing to reduce operating temperatures.
You may want to check out undervolting to reduce cpu temperatures. You should also use something like a book to prop up the back of your laptop. This will help increase the airflow under the system, increasing the cooling efficiency of the fan.

Just make sure that what you use to prop up the book does not block any of the vents.
