The Logitech x-230 is pretty darn good for a 2.1 speaker system. I own a pair and the sound is amazing.

    I second the X-230. They're only around 35 dollars at newegg.com

    They are great speakers!

    I wasn't aware Logitech had a Z3000...do you mean the Z2300?

You can hook them up to your computer just fine even with an integrated soundcard.

I'm surprised the first two posters didn't mention the Z3000 mistake :p

I think he really does mean the Z2300. In any case, look to spend about $120 on these. I have these and I think they're AWESOME. However, I wish I had gotten the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 instead. The Klipsch doesn't have as much bass or pure volume loudness, but the bass on the Z2300 is HUGE and often overpowering, and I never turn up my speakers up past 50% anyways. The Klipsch supposedly has better mids and highs though. It'll cost you a bit more (though retails are the same). I got mine from Techonweb.com

*Edit* I got mine for $114 shipped I believe. I used to run it through a Creative Xmod, but I'm just using integrated Intel HD audio right now and it's perfectly fine.

Actually, there seem to be some nice deals on the Klipsch and z2300 these days. I got my ProMedia 2.1 for $99 from Bestbuy, and last I checked (around a month ago) you can find the z2300 online at certain retailers for $99 as well.

I do mean the Logitech Z-2300s.

EDIT: I've decided to go with the x-230s and I'll upgrade as I feel necessary.
