I just bought a logitec headset w/ microphone that plugs into a usb port instead of a normal jack, but i need to use those headphones and the normal jack at the same time! i am wondering how to force it to use both the usb device and the speakers/headphones. if you don't understand, please tell me! i need an answer ASAP, i am leaving on a trip very soon!!!

If you enter your audio properties and go to the "audio" tab, you will see two drop down lists to select default devices for playback and recording. Select the system's onboard sound for playback and the usb headset for recording, that should work for you.
