My HP w2207h has pretty bad colors compared to the LCD on my DM4. The colors on the external monitor seem off. For instance, the white, isn't really white. The metal/grey in iTunes is almost kind of purple. I've tried messing with the color settings in the ATI menu and nothing really helps all that much. I tried messing with the settings in the monitor itself, and nothing really has helped either. Is there a color profile or something I could use or..... something? I'm connecting it via HDMI. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have a w2207 and the colors aren't that great; kind of muted/dull.

That said, HDMI isn't exactly a high quality connection. Have you tried connecting it via VGA? Have you tried connecting it from another computer? I noticed similar color issues when I connected my HP Pavilion to my Gateway monitor via HDMI. For example, the reds were completely blown out.

You could invest in a monitor calibration device like a Spyder3Express. I have one and it works fantastically well on all my monitors.

I thought HDMI is of higher quality than VGA? That's...surprising. No, actually, I haven't. Figured HDMI was better. I only have this laptop. Since you have the same monitor, could you give me the settings you're using? Gamma and what not. It'd be highly appreciated. The dang whites are..vanilla-y.

I might look into that down the line but to buy it just for this monitor doesn't seem worth it to be honest.
