Hellol, everyone.
I plan to buy a HP Envy 14 Beats edition.
And I am looking for a docking station for this laptop to connect 22inch monitor, speaker, external HDD, keyboard, mouse etc.
What options do I have?
Since this laptop doesn't have a docking station port, should I get a USB dock?
Would this USB dock bottleneck 1080i HD playback to my external monitor?
Thank you in advance.

Yes. (USB dock as bottleneck)
Connect it directly to the machine. Or buy an Elitebook/etc if that bothers you. -
I wouldn't recommend using a USB docking port. What happens with those is that they connect everything through the USB port, including items like video and sound. Video, in particular, will suffer tremendously by going through the USB port. There simply isn't enough bandwidth on the USB interface to support the kind of data transfer rates required for video. So yes, 1080i playback will suffer.
If you care about performance, then your best bet is to just connect everything directly to your laptop. You could use a USB hub to dis/connect your USB devices (keyboard, mouse, external HDD) with one cable without suffering a performance hit. But just make sure that video and sound are directly connected.
