Hey guys,
Been in the market for a 22" LCD monitor to use with my new machine. My brother has two LG 226WTQ's. These seem like really good screens, so I was about to pull the trigger and get one when I noticed a video on Youtube about the HP W2207...
All the reviews on this monitor rave about it saying it is the best they've tested. Looks good, has an excellent stand so you can pivot and swing it, and its general performance is excellent.
I was hooked! Brilliant, I'll pick one up, maybe two if I like it, then i read it comes with only a 1 year warranty. WTH?!!!
Only a 1 year warranty?! What are HP thinking? When just about every other competing 22" LCD monitor out there has 3 years warranty. Plus the HP is more expensive than its competition. This is unacceptable, and has put me off buying one. In my eyes, shows me HP have no faith in the quality of their LCD monitors.
What does everyone else think?

I got the Samsung 226BW, works great for me!

yea my dad has the screen and its absolutely amazing! He fot it a best buy so he has a warranty form there so you could do that. Also, you can buy extended warranties for all hp products on the hp site so...

Sideswipe, the 226BW looks like a nice screen. Im just not a fan of the silvery chrome bit that runs along the bottom of it.
Also kinda been scared off by some of the stories I've been hearing about the panels. Seems kinda like a lottery on which panel you get.
My major gripe here is with HP. How can they still only have a 1 year warranty on their products? They market a product that is claimed to be the best in its class, plus charge more for it than the competition. You'd expect it too have at least the same standard of warranty. But no, its got 1 year. Its so annoying, all the reviews rate this as the new overall best 22" LCD. And the flexible stand options are great and have been sorely needed on a 22" laptop to date. -
