Looking for the expansion base adapter, part #371235-001. Any idea where I can locate one? The HP parts store says the part is on backorder & the base I ordered FROM HP didn't come with the unit.
Thanks for the feedback!

I just left you a PM. I am in the same exact situation. Three months and no part. HP keeps giving me dates and nothing. I even purchased the hard drive kit and I cannot use any of it. I called HP again this morning and the "Case Manager", Kathy, ignored me. I had to leave a message on her answering machine.
Everywhere I go, I get the same thing, no part. I am sitting on apprx. $450.00 worth of paper weights.
We need to compare notes and find others in same situation.

I'm in the same situation, I ordered four expansion bases for my laptop, three are still in the boxes collecting dust. I have had no luck with HP, after the first attempt to order 371235-001 I received no notification that the part was backordered, and they did not charge my account. The second attempt I received an apology and was told it would be out in 5-7 days. I finally got through to someone in parts who told me they were on backorder, at which point 21 days had passed and I could no longer return the paper weights. I even offered to buy a new laptop and new expansion bases, HP would not accomodate me. If I find these, I will post, but I have tried Ambry, Techexcess, and about 8 other aftermarket resellers without being able to track one down. I think I'm done with HP products....

I was in the same situation. Hp kept giving me different ship dates and finally said it was backordered until Jan 2008, so I cancelled my order and finally found an adapter on ebay. Try ebay have seen a couple up there recently.

I just got a call from HP this morning. Some guy that barely spoke english apologized for the delay of the part. He then gave me my order number and said that there was a large back order on that part but that I should be receiving it within 7-10 days.
Yeah, right!
Well, I purchased the unit via HP Home & Home Office credit which is serviced by HSBC.
On the back of the statement, it says that if there is a problem with the services or merchandise and that if I have tried to resolve it in "Good Faith", that I can dispute the amount left on the balance and not have to pay it.
Guess what I'm doing?
Desputing the entire amount (it was on a 90 day same as cash and the 1st payment was due this month).
