HPExpressCard Digital/Analog TV Tuner

Hi, i am from Argentina, and yesterday i get a HP dv9548us, it came with a tv tuner, and when i try to watch some tv its shows "rain"..
here i left a print screen.

i try configuring as cable and antena, but with both keep the same rain on the screen.

can someone help me?

If you are using the antenna, then their probably aren't any good signals. Try choosing the digital option when you manually configure the antenna, as it will show you the signal strengths of various stations.

 

so the card does not support cable over the line? only the air? aww schucks.

 

It works both over a cable line or over an antenna. It also includes a composite cable input so you can connect a dvd player or vcr (game consoles don't work well because there is a 1-2 second delay between pressing a button and seeing it appear on screen).

 

i mean the hp card is not qam like a 150 dollar hdtv tuner plus the hdtv tuners are the best way to go;

but; about the rain i guess its your cable if you dont have service or its the area ou are in if there are no over the air brodcasts.

 

The HP TV Tuner Express Card I own can receive analog cable, analog over the air, and digital over the air.

 

word; the on air gt that should be here this week does all that and digital over cable.

 

i use the same cable that i use to watch tv on my television...so the cable and the signal ares OK.
i try using "K!TV" and the same problem.

THe HP Expresscard works fine with analog cable....

Just make sure your drivers are installed..and I've had the best luck using manual configuration

 

hi, i´m new here, and i'm from argentina too. I'm having the same problem with my express card over an HP pavilion dv9500. The cable signal in argentina is in PAL-N and i think this has some problems, but there are people selling the card on MERCADOLIBRE, that is like EBAY and they said that the card is functioning ok... I dont know what to do, because if I call HP they dont have a clue about it... So, if someone has an answer to this it could be really helpfull!!! thanks

 

Hola, yo también soy de Argentina y compre la hp expresscard Digital/analog TV turner por medio de EBAY y no la puedo hacer andar, tengo una notebook HP DV8233cl corriendo con windows vista, instale los drivers que me mandaron en un cd pero no logro ver nada, a veces no tengo ni audio otras veces veo muy mal a rayas pero con buen audio. no se si la tarjeta sera ntsc y aca en argentina el sistema es pal N cualquier cosa por favor digan me. GRACIAS

Hello, I am from Argentina and buy the HP expresscard Digital / analog TV turner through EBAY and I do not walk, I have a HP notebook DV8233cl running with windows vista, install the drivers that I was sent in a CD but not achievement see anything, sometimes I have no audio sometimes feel very badly striped but with good audio. I do not know if the card will be ntsc and here in the Argentine system is pal N anything please tell me. Thanks You

 

Soy Uruguayo y adquiri el 1/1/2008 una pavilion dv9500 que viene con una tarjeta Geoforce 8600 y la tarjeta para ver tv ExpressCard que por lo que investigue hasta ahora es solo para norma NTSC. Al igual que algunos de Uds estoy sufriendo con la configuracion de la Tarjeta de Tv aqui la norma tambien es Pal N y no he encontrado el modo de cambiarlo. Si alguin tiene una idea de lo que se puede hacer......muchas gracias
Por lo pronto voy a mandar una carta a HP quejandome (muchas de las ventas que esta gente realiza son para usuarios de latinoamerica en donde en la mayoria de los paises usan una norma que no es NTSC

muy bueno que le mandes esa carta, si tenes noticias por favor ponla por este medio, estaria muy agradecido, aparte no entiendo porque tampoco puedo hacerla reconocer con el media center, solo con el quick play de hp, pero tampoco puedo introducir video digital ni nada. gracias

 

Veo que soy una más con el mismo problema. Compre la tarjeta con mucha expectativa, y solo me ha funcionado en USA. Con la video puesta en NTSC pude ver algo, pero blanco y negro. No habra forma de pasar el cable a través de la video? No entiendo mucho al respecto, pero me gustaria seguir probando hasta encontrar alguna solución.

I share the same problem other argentines have with the hp expresscard tv tuner not working over here. I tried with VCR turned into NTSC mode and it kind of worked but black and white. They do sell this thing over here, so there may be a way to make them work we dont know about?

Hola, trate de hacer lo que tu dices y nada, supuestamente tendría que andar, para mi que encima estan falladas, no se, si encuentras alguna solucion por favor no dejes de comentarlo en este foro. lo unico que sirve es el control remoto y el receptor.
