Hands on: Enermax Aeolus CP001
Well looking for desktop parts here in Tokyo I came upon an interesting find, the Enermax Aeolus CP001.
I attempted to take pictures and plug the model into a notebook nearby but unfourtunately the store staff were not very pleased about this, they were also not very fond of pictured being taken and deleted themSorry for failing but I am not willing to be arrested over that and I do not think NBR admins would be happy knowing people are being arrested over notebook coolers.

Sorry for the image sizes/quality, I do not have access to photoshop on this notebook. Thank you for understanding. Furthermore I do not own the product but was able to get access to it thanks in part to an electronic store here in Tokyo...although they did not seem very fond of me flexing coolers and "playing" with them as they said.
THIS IS NOT A FULL REVIEW AND WILL NOT BE A FULL REVIEW
How ever I was able though to unbox it and get a feel for it while it was running.
The build appears to consist of 2 pieces for the main body. There appears to be the back bit and the front bit, where the front bit is screwed onto the back.

The metal was quite decent quality, firm cool and smooth.
The underside is what suprised me, thank you to my gf (username OSTIA)for help in this part with pointing out some of the things below.
The cover on the fan (a clear plastic) was very flimsy. If pushed down in the center with little force it would slowdown/stop the motion of the fan.
Thanks to OSTIA as she noticed that the material on the fan was a very thin plastic, similar but a little stronger then the plastic of toy electic fans. (

The airflow was decent, possibly a little weaker then a Zalman NC-1000 but definitly stronger then a Sanwa TK-CLN6U.
The back side was quite simple to navigate:

The power button felt just like the power button fixed on the Zalman NC series. The fan speed switch was actually a suprise, I was expecting a smooth sliding knob but it was a very firm clicking slider that takes a decent amount of force to move. The flex in the knob was slightly visible (confirmed by OSTIA after I thought it was my vision). It seems to have only 1 USB from searching which is located on the back and would be used for power.

aww that sucks, they should allow cameras inside their store

Most store here dont. I usually use my cellphone since it is almost as good as a digital camera but often they still catch you. I have pics of a Zalman NC-1000 knockoff.

You are not talking about Canada, are you?

i just bought this fan for my sisters xps1530. I bought it in vancouver bc at www.anitec.ca. Paid 45cdn for it. I dont have the right software to see how much my notebook is being cooled though. Fits perfect for a 15" notebook.

Use HWmonitor to keep track of your notebook temps.
