Hello there,
I have a question: is there any company in the world other than "mCover ipearl" that makes custom hard shell covers for pc laptops ?? Has anyone stumbled in something like that?
mCover ipearl does not release hard shell covers except for the very popular models and are currently focusing on chrome books aside from Macbooks.
I am not speaking about hard shell covers or shells , I am speaking about the hard shell covers like speck covers for Macbooks but for PC laptops.

I never understood hard covers.
If you're going to intentionally buy a small, thin device with beautiful ergonomics (laptop, smartphone), why would you immediately destroy the ergonomics by putting a large plastic hard case on it?
If you need some kind of drop protection, buy a business class laptop, like a Dell Latitude or Lenovo Thinkpad. Those devices will handle a drop far better than a $30 plastic case.
If you're going to buy something small-thin-and-light, then keep it small-thin-and-light. -
Indeed. If you will be using a laptop in the field and need drop protection, get a business class laptop or a ruggedized laptop. The hard covers make nice, elegant thin machines clunky looking. Looks sometimes are better sacrificed for practical and durable when mobile.

But why bother protecting it from scratches? Sure, you don't want your single-body aluminum laptop chassis to get all dented and scratched. But putting a hard plastic cover on a laptop (or smartphone) pretty much hides that aluminum (or other premium material) entirely.
Sure, you're protecting the aluminum chassis. But in return, you're not actually using a laptop with an aluminum chassis. At that point, you're pretty much using a laptop with a cheap crappy hard plastic exterior, with pristine aluminum beneath that cheap hard plastic that you never get to see, touch, or feel.
Doesn't it make sense to just use your laptop as-is without a case, and try to be as careful as you can about it? And if the accidental scratch does happen, it sucks, but it's not the end of the world. -
If I need a laptop which can survive, I buy one built for that job. I forgo cute for what I can't kill or at least repair myself. MacBooks in my world aren't Pro, neither are they well built for the thing called real life. That takes real Pro laptops, the kind called Business Class or Ruggedized, which have Military specifications they must pass to be called that. Apple passes none of these standards, therefore it is a cute consumer grade item.
