    Hi,

I've just bought an HP DM1 and I am looking to get a decent rigid sleeve/case for it to protect from accidental knocks etc.

I want one that has a rigid outer shell but no handles or carry straps (rings to attach a shoulder strap are okay) as it will go in another bag for transport.

I like the look of the Slappa hardbody Procase but it's a bit on the expensive side and I'm not sure that the 10" case would be big enough even though the web site says this will fit upto 12" laptop (the internal dimensions of the 10" are big enough but are they correct?, the 13" case has the same internal diemsions).

Does anyone have any suggestions on other cases (available in the uk) that might be suitable?

I have looked on the internet but trying to find a rigid case with no handles is very difficult.

    Thanks

    Martin

Try this: SFBags - WaterField Designs - Laptop Sleeve - TSA Checkpoint Friendly - TSA Good - MacBook Pro - MacBook Air Sleeve - Macbook Air Case - Notebook Sleeve - Computer Sleeve - Laptop Case
Custom sizes and you can customize it with or without flaps, shoulder strap.

Also this one: The Vertical Brain Cell Laptop Bag by: TOM BIHN
This one has small handles, but it was made to go into another bag, so they shouldn't really get in the way or you can cut it off :)

I don't have experience with either, but I've been looking around as well.

I don't know if a neoprene sleeve will be up to the job, I'm probably being over protective but I do worry about damage to the screen. Does anyone have any experience of the Philips heat protect range? They do one which has one rigid side which acts like a laptop tray when using the laptop.

Does anyone have any experience of the Targus TSS132EU slipcase?

It seems like the most likely compromise of price and protection but for a case that is promoted as a case for 11.6" laptop the internal dimensions don't seem big enough.

According to the Targus website there is a 30mm difference between the internal and external dimensions and my laptop is 4mm longer than than the internal measure (which I doubt is a problem) but 14mm wider than the internal measure (may be a problem). Looking at the pictures of the case I can't see where the 30mm is lost so this may be the tapering to the zip, in which case I hope that the internal dimensions quoted are on the pessamistic side.

Doesn't seem to be that much choice for quality 11.6 cases, can't find any hard ones at all.

If you want a hard case for protection, Pelican is the way to go. They design cases for industrial and military purposes and are among the best (if not the best).
