I have been trying to find a tough and reasonable looking rucksack for my 17'' G170 (aka Sager NP8170). Does anyone have any recommendations? What rucksack do you use for your 17'' laptop?

Preferably I would be able to purchase the rucksack in the UK.

    Thanks for any insight.

It's not a particularly attractive pack (though not that ugly either, just nondescript), but I've found the Targus XL useful and capacious enough for most notebooks, and crammed with nice touches including a rain shield. You might want to check the inside dimensions particularly with the larger of Clevo carbuncles.

    @ Vogelbung

I did consider the Targus XL but I was a bit put off by a few of these 1 star reviews, particularly the ones mentioning the straps coming away from the seam. It sounds like you have not had any issues, how long have you used the Targus XL for?

I've had it for a while. straps seems fine still. I'm perfectly happy with it. Still, if you carry rocks every day...

The other thing is of course, it's a £50 backpack - the modular pockets for my Acronym jackets cost more. You can't expect it to last for ever. The strap issue must be isolated. Were you looking for something with a higher general rep? Because Cancom carries the Booq line, although they tend to be sized for Macbooks so you'd best double check internal dimensions.

I wasn't looking for something of a higher general rep but will definately consider those, the Booq line looks great. I won't be carrying anything majorly heavy so if the strap issues are rare cases then the Targus XL should be fine.

    I've been looking for this: Timbuk2 Bags - H.A.L. Backpack - Mission6 Nylon Fabric
I saw in the local bag shop this one: Wander 3 Moscow Laptop Backpack - Delivery in United Kingdom

That Samsonite looks good, it did not have cushion in the bottom of the laptop compartment. Sizewise I don't know if your laptop fits, that you need to measure yourself :)

I still want that Timbuk2 bag tho. It looks big enough to store my car while I'm at work... but it has no european reseller, at least I haven't yet found one. Shipping costs and taxes kill the price :(

Thanks for the input guys, I went with the Targus XL. Hopefully I won't experience that problem a few others have mentioned in their reviews. It won't be getting any heavy use so I don't want to spend too much.
