I just bought a new laptop for my future deployment overseas this summer. I have the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook soundcard from a previous laptop purchase to compliment it and now I'm looking for a good set of headphones to go with it (Some people don't like it when Company of Heroes is on loud while they're trying to sleep). I've never bought a pair so I was hoping for some suggestions. Thanks.

What's your budget? A 'headset' comes with a mike, headphones don't, you'll want to decide this early on? You're comment implies that you need sealed phones, meaning very little sound will be heard by nearby sleepers, some non-sealed phones are surprisingly loud, so is this a concern?

Also, are ear canal phones (aka IEM's) an option. No one but you will hear anything but you do have to stuff them in your ears.

I'd say $100 max but will go a little over if it's honestly worth it. Doesn't have to be sealed. Some noise can creep out of them. I just want it to sound good. A mic would be of least importance to me.

Then IEMs would be pretty good, they won't hear you, but you can't hear them either :p. Are you looking for something bassy or just clear and good quality sound?

    Sony MDR7506
    Senneheiser HD280, HD25-SP
    Audio Technica ATH-M50

These provide pretty good sound, and even the most picky audiophile would say they are quite solid.

I'd just say some good quality sound. I suppose IEM's would be ideal then since I will be overseas. Can't really carry around anything bulky.

    My picks :D

    ER61 & UE Super.fi 3.

I own a pair of super.fi3 and they are great :) A little more bass than the ER6i but the ER6i's sound are a little clearer. Sound isolation is excellent on the super.fi 3s :D

Very cool. Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'm going to actually try out the UE super.fi's.

    Equation RP21
    Jays D-Jays
    The above-mentioned Sony's
    Grado SR-60, SR-80

The last 2 probably sound the best of the bunch.
