So guys, Im actually way overdue in buying some headphones for me (duct ape is a bless!)

    Currently Im torn between the:

    AKG k514
    AKG k99
    Audio Technica ATH T300

Those are the ones that fall within my price range, Im leaning towards the k514 since I can buy it in brazil, the others I will have to ebay

Are you after open or closed headphones?
For open headphones, you can basically still hear the sounds of everything around you.
The ATH-T300 are the only closed back headphones that you listed, but I have no idea about them regarding sound or how much sound they will block out from your surroundings.

Can't go wrong with a pair of Grado headphones. The SR60i or SR80i, are close, although a little bit over your price range ($60 US?) the quality out of these is just superb. If you really wanna do some heavy research into a good pair of phones, head over to head-fi.org.

the limit of the budget is U$50, since going over it I will incur payment of import taxes.

Since I have improved a little in my ebay searching skills (that thing is a mess), I have come to some other phones that fall within my price range

    Sennheiser HD428
    Sennheiser HD328
    Sennheiser HD203
    Behringer HPS3000
    AKG k514
    AKG k99
    Audio Technica ATH T300

Shure, Bose, Grado, klipsch, and some others are way over my budget

    thanks for all the help!!!

Now that I saw, there isnt any mention of what Im going to do with those phones...

Mostly home use, which would entail:
    Listening movies, classes, and music:
    -classic [opera, concertos, instrumentals, camara]
-rock [progressive, old school, indie, hard, trash metal]
-jazz [diva, hard bebop, white, big band]
    -samba, pagode, mpb, fado
-blues, soul, REAL R&B, old school hip hop [grand master flash and so forth]

This will be done on my mbp 13 (so a extreme high quality phones aint needed)

However when Im listening to my LPs, its another matter, although there is quite some noise from my old player (its an audio technica from the 80s), Im working on replacing the cables with some schielded ones, but there is quite a debate regarding that

Im not an audiophile per se, for one I dont see myself buying extremely expensive equipment, and I rarely see the difference in a phone that costs 200 to other that costs 1000
