This is my first post, hope I put it in the right thread. I have a Sony vaio VPCF13AFX/B, while I love the computer screen and resolution their speakers are not that good for music, movies, and gaming. I'm thinking about getting some headphones for plane rides and portable speakers for when i'm at the hotel since it will be my only form of entertainment. I know it will be hard to have small powerful speakers with good bass, but I need something better than the speakers on this laptop now.

I heards about these speakers called soundmatters foxl v2. Are they good as review say they are? Will they sound better than the speakers on my sony Vaio? Here's another portable speaker that looks interesting. Jawbone's Jambox wireless Bluetooth headset. Does anyone have used these or have any better suggestions?

I don't know anything about headphones can someone suggest a good pair that has decent amount of bass.

    Thanks

How portable is "portable"? Look up the X-mini, its a cool little speaker, but may not be what you have in mind.

Plane ride: Defo get an in-ear monitor.
$300 will give you a decent choice.

    In order of recommendation:

    Amazon.com: Westone 3 - Headphones ( in-ear ear-bud ): Electronics

Amazon.com: Shure SE425-CL Dual High-Definition MicroDriver Earphone with Detachable Cable (Clear): Electronics: Reviews, Prices & more

Amazon.com: Etymotic ER-4P Portable In-Ear Earphones: Electronics: Reviews, Prices & more *NOT bassy - in fact the complete opposite, but a sound that tends to blow a lot of people away by its apparent accuracy. Not a big fan personally but this is recommendations

    etc

Unless you have huge earholes, avoid Ultimate Ears.
