Im looking for a decent pair of headphones (please, dont suggest earphones, my ears just dont "accept" them ;x ) for up to 40 pounds.
What Im looking for is clean sound with (if possible) noise-isolating, which has always been an issue for me, seeing as i work in noisy environment, and I dont want to turn up the volume just because its noisyI want to fully enjoy the music!
Im situated in Scotland, if it helps.

I don't know how much 40£ is.. but senn px100, grado sr60 come to mind for entry level, but neither are great at noise cancelling. the sony's as mentioned above look promising.
Then, something like Denon D1000, audio technica ath-a700, beyerdynamic dt 770 pro, akg 240's come to mind for upgrades.. -
£40 is about $80
Except for the px100, all the ones you mentioned are out of his price range in the UK -
Give Unilet Sound and Vision a call,we can ship up to you no problem.I hope it's not against the rules. But I sell audio visual equipment and plasma screens. Sorry again if it's against the rules.
PX100 = £34.99
PX100 White = £39.99
PX200 = £39.99
PX200 White = £44.99
PXC150 Noise cancelling =£79.99
£1.50 p&p -
I could stretch the limit if it was worth it tho
And yeah, 40£ = ~80$ pretty much.
What do you think about Sennheiser HD250 ? I want headphones that wont get annoying after 1+ hour of use, something comfy please :< -
Well the PXC150 have very small earpads which don't enclose your ear but sit on them which can then sweat and cause some discomfort. The best bet is the HD250 but these have now gone to HD250 II and cost £179.99. If you have an eye for a bargain then I can do the HD600's for a massive £159, down from £249.

Yeah, just noticed the price.. :X
Ill try to check some headphones in the local music shops, hopefully Ill be able to clarify my needs.
EDIT: I just found these.... http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/headphones/19826/Sennheiser+HD212+Pro.htm
Seems like a good pair of headphones, decent isolation, good price and supposedly a great piece of a headphone ;p
Also this pair, which is a closed-back = longer wearing/less strain on ears I think ;o

HD215's would definately be your best bet tbh

The lower-end Sennheisers recommended here aren't exactly good audio quality. Too much bass, IMO. (Except for maybe the PX100, I like those.)
IMO, the best low-fi/mid-fi Sennheisers are the HD25-1 (except it's a bit out of your price range).
Noise isolating = IEMs.
I'd recommend the MylarOne X3i ($57 shipped) or Altec Lansing iM716 (can be found for ~$40).
It also depends on what type of headphones you prefer, and the music you listen to.
"Audiophile"? You're in the wrong forum
Try Head-Fi. -
I don't know which model it is, but I always hear great reviews about some inexpensive over the ear Koss headphones.
As far as those Sony's go, if they're like the MDR-700DJ's, they get uncomfortable after a while because the cup is a little too small, and they squeeze your head pretty hard. -
$80 =/= audiophile
Just had to point that out. If you really want good sound then save your money for a bit and buy one of the more expensive sets that have been recommended. If you do, you won't regret it. -
$80?
I know a new pair of denon d1000's can be had for $100 in the U.S. -
Haha, I know that I wont get anything great for less than 80 dollars, but then again, Im searching for just a decent pair of headphones
Ive been testing the Sennheiser HD215, and I have to say that they are comfortable, altough I have yet to test the sound quality for a whileGonna buy it in argos and give it back if they dont suit me I guess.
As for my music taste: http://www.last.fm/user/Sephael/
