Does anyone have any experience using BT headphones via a USB adapter with a notebook that is not Bluetooth-enabled? (Basically, does it work as well as a setup where the laptop has Bluetooth built in.)

I'm trying to decide between an hp dv2 and dv3 and this is one of the factors.

P.S. I'm looking at these Insignia headphones if anyone has any specific experience with them ( http://insigniaproducts.com/products/portable-audio/NS-BTHDST.html).

You mean a USB Bluetooth adapter? Not sure but I'd expect it to be about the same as using an internal Bluetooth card. (Obviously, it would have the downside of taking up a USB port... but the advantage that you can easily move the Bluetooth adapter between different computers.)

I don't know about the Insignias... but I recently picked up a pair of Sony DR-BT22 Bluetooth headphones for about $20 new on eBay... and I really like 'em so far. It's an over-the-head design though... not behind-the-head like those Insignias.
