Smart ear 3d is not exactly from the headphone. its the technology used by biostar for enhance audio output from their motherboards to 3D audio quality.

for really good headphones i would always recommend sennheiser. They also have some for a fair price. There are also headphones from biostar, but i dont know how good they are.

The simple answer is that it depends on your budget.

    • If you're talking about a budget of ~$80 - $130, then get yourself a pair of Corsair Vengeance 1500 or Logitech G35 (USB wired), or Corsair Vengeance 2000 or Logitech G930 (wireless).
Those two model lines of gaming headsets tend to get the highest reviews when it comes to bang-for-your-buck. These are USB headsets specifically designed for PC gaming purposes.

    • Your next major jump in audio quality comes at around $250+ minimum.
Here, you're talking about taking audiophile-level headphones and using them for PC gaming purposes with some kind of external sound card (i.e. USB sound card, USB DAC, or a Dolby Headphone sound processor). Once you reach the +$250+ tier, you're already at the point of diminishing returns when it comes to audio intended for PC gaming.

It's also very important to note that the needs of a PC gamer will be different than the needs of an audiophile. An audiophile will prioritize things like neutral sound signature, soundstage, clarity, etc. They specifically want audio gear to give them the most faithful reproduction of 2.0-channel audio that they can get. An audiophile specifically does NOT want things like audio signal processing. Meanwhile, a PC gamer will prioritize things like surround sound effects and a "fun" representation of sound. These are usually achieved by things like bass-heavy sound signature and virtual surround sound processing. These are desirable qualities for a PC gamer, but highly undesirable for an audiophile.

This is why you don't really see anything worthwhile in the price gap between $130 - $250. A USB-based PC gaming headset that costs >$130 will tend to provide features that don't improve audio quality (e.g. fancy lighting effects). An audiophile-level setup that costs <$250 won't have the features that you want in PC gaming (e.g. virtual surround sound processing). So the biggest factor influencing audio quality, is whether your budget puts you in the ~$100 or ~$250+ pricing tier.

I have the Logitech G35, and I can honestly say that these headphones are horrible: yes, the positional sound is great, and yes, you can hear stuff that you couldn't hear otherwise, but the actual sound coming from these cans is horrendous. It sounds metallic in nature and extremely tiny and unimpressive, almost like someone screaming in your ear in mid-to-high-pitch. Don't even think about having any bass in these things. I'm hardly a sound elitist, and I can honestly say that this sound is just bad.

Plus, after about 7 months their ear pads started peeling off. You would think that this is merely cosmetic in nature, but it's peeling off right on top of you. After each gaming session my entire head was covered in many tiny plastic/rubber/whatever stuff, which wasn't cool.

I now use a ATH-M50 headphones, connected to a FiiO E10 DAC (due to the bad sound coming from my laptop's sound card) and using the free Razer Synapse 2.0 3D sound software, and I have to say the sound is very satisfying - rich, warm, bassy and in good 3D. If your sound card is good enough, go ahead and omit the FiiO E10 DAC. Considering the M50 can go as low as $100, I think you'll be very pleased.

Hey guys, i spend the last weeks in diverse stores to listen to some headphones. I also got the chance listen to some of the mentioned products here. For example the logitech G35, the Corsair Vengeance 1500 and the Biostar iDEQ N10.

To get a better comparison i also tried some professional ones for way out of my budget.

what i can summarize for all 3 systems is, that the difference is really minor for my ears. Logitech seems to be somehow more clear than the other two, but i dont think it is relevant. If you will not compare it side by side, i dont think anybody will hardly hear it.

for me, i didnt get one yet, as i will wait for a good time on my budget. Also, i am trying to get my hands on that smart ear feature from biostar. So far, there is only little information to read about....

    Just my 2 cents ;)
