Pretty simple, i need a good head set (with mic) for mostly gaming and listening to music. Would prefer to be over the head ear phones (as opposed to around the head) and wouldn't mind if they were noise canceling.

I have been eye balling the Creative Fatal1ty headset if any one wanted to give me a heads-up on this product also.

I bought some a Koss SB-40 Headset since everyone over at Hard Forums raves about them and they are only like $35 on Amazon. Check them out. They have excellent sound quality but the mic is not up to par.

    How strict is your budget?
If you have a desktop mic, you can use these
    http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239050357&sr=8-1
and be all set. If you don't, you can get this
    http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Microp...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239050432&sr=8-1

though if you were to shell out the 70 for 515s, might as well go the extra 18 for ad700s
    http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239050432&sr=8-2

But, if your budget is strict, that zalman mic +....oh i don't know
    http://www.amazon.com/Grado-iGrado-...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239050494&sr=1-1
    http://www.amazon.com/Koss-PortaPro...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239050517&sr=1-1
    http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PX...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239050534&sr=1-1

You aren't going to find a full out headset with the boom mic that's any good at 50 dollars. You could get a crappy turtle beach headset...but they're crappy. Best option is to get more bang for your buck with a good set of headphones + a clip on mic. perfect for your situation since you want to listen to music too, and who wants to listen to music with a microphone still on eh?
