    Hello

I have just acquired a Dell XPS M1530 laptop which has bluetooth. All this technology is a bit difficult for me to get my head around.

I study languages with the Open University online, and for tutorials use Lyceum conferencing which requires a microphone headset. I've just tried to slot my microphone headset which I use with my old Dell XPS desktop (pre-wireless) into the two slots at the front of my vista laptop - and they do not fit, being far too loose.

Having tried to work out what the problem using my less than understandable owners manual (as you can tell I am a computer novice!!), is it possible that I need a headset which is bluetooth compatible, or is there something else that I have missed?

    Thanks for any help

    Lady in distress!!!

All you need is a headset with standard 3.5mm audio jacks. Almost all headsets have these jacks. If the one you already have is too loose, then maybe it is worn off. Get a new pair, they are relatively cheap (around $15 or less).

If you want wireless connectivity, then you can even use a standard Bluetooth headset too.

P.S: M1530 has a built-in mic that works pretty well for Skype and other IMs, why dont you use that ?
