I have my touchpad set to where if I have a USB mouse in use it disables. But now, for some reason, when I pull the USB mouse out, the pad continues to stay disabled unless I disable the feature.

Should I reinstall the Synaptics Driver?

I have the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 (do not have the software it came with installed)

Another thing. When I don't have any USB Device plugged in, my laptop says it "recognizes" new USB HID Device, therefore disabling my touchpad. When I go to Device Manager there are several "HID-compliant mouse" under the mice and keyboards tree and "HID compliant consumer control Device" under the human interface tree.

Only one mouse has been plugged in.

    Any help would be great!

That is a pic of my device manager. Only ONE mouse is plugged it right now.

Interesting problem. The easiest fix is to leave the touchpad enabled at all times, which is what I would suggest doing if it isn't a hassle.

What it sounds like is that the enable/disable touchpad when the mouse is plugged in doesn't work the opposite way. I don't know if there is a way around that.

    Thanks for the input.

But like I said, even when I don't have any mouse or anything plugged in and I'm in the Device Manager, if I click "scan for hardware changes," HID-compliant mouse and the above pops up.

Here is a pic of it: (note, this is WITHOUT anything plugged in at the time of the scan for any changes)
