Hi all, I'm going to buy a MSI GT60 with GTX 680M sometime around late september, so I was looking to buy all the gear thats needed. I'm currently on my custom build desktop, which has logitech G5, G15 and a logitech speaker, but no headset. I'm looking to buy a mouse, a headset and a mouse mat. Maybe a backpack.

    1) HEADSET : My budget is around $130 for this. Below are the ones I'm currently looking at.

a-Asus Vulcan : Awesome looking headset and I'm a big fan of Asus ROG. Reviews are very positive, especially the one at Guru3d. link: ASUS Vulcan ANC Headset review. I've also tried it one at a local shop, and I must say I'm pretty impressed.

Amazon.com: ASUS VULCAN-ANC/BLK/ALW/AS Active-Noise-Cancelling Pro Gaming Headset - Black: Electronics

b- Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 : Equally good, but many say that audio quality is much better on this than the vulcan.

Amazon.com: Sharkoon X-Tatic True 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Gaming Headset: Electronics

c- Cooler Master Storm Sirus : Never seen one before, and also not sure I want that Tactical Mixing Console thing. But as far as the reviews go, it an excellent headset.

Amazon.com: Cooler Master Storm Sirus True 5.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset (SGH-6000-KK5R1): Electronics

d- Corsair Vengeance 1500 : Read multiple reviews, all had nothing but praise. There is also a wireless version. Vengeance 2000 i think.

Amazon.com: Corsair CA-9011112-WW Vengeance 1500 Dolby 7.1 USB Gaming Headset: Electronics

    2) Mouse : Budget, would like to keep it below $90

a- Razer Taipan : Played around with it for a few minutes, and I definitely like it. At least better than my current G5 mouse. Not that G5 is bad or anything, but the taipan suits my hand better cause G5 is a bit big for me. but not by that much.

Amazon.com: Razer Taipan Expert Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse (RZ01-00780100-R3U1): Electronics

b- Mionix Naos 5000 : Seems pretty good.

Amazon.com: Mionix Naos 5000 Laser Gaming Mouse: Electronics

    c- Razer Spectre : I LOVE STARCRAFT2!

Amazon.com: Razer Spectre StarCraft II Gaming Mouse: Electronics

Please know that I currently own a G5 and Deathadder. Both are very good. But I would like something other than these two.

    3) Mouse mat : Dont know much about this, but a cheap hard mouse mat will do. I dont like the idea of having a magazine in my backpack for a mouse pad!

Thank you all for reading. Any suggestion is much appreciated!

Headset: the Vengeance 1500 has a slight whitenoise issue, look on the corsair forums for details. That didn't prevent me from liking mine since the white noise was a non issue with actual sound going through the headset. Comfort wise, it's still a good headset, but you might prefer the Vengeance 1300 since it's analogue. If you're dead set on virtual surround, look at the logitech G35.

Mouse: I have the Naos 5000 and i like it a lot, but it will either fit your hand perfectly or feel awkward to use. Logitech G700 maybe?

Unless your absolutely set on buying a headset, why not buy a microphone and a nice pair of headphones instead? I used to use a Logitech G35 but then I got a pair of Sony MDR-V6+a Zalman ZM-Mic1 microphone and have never looked back. Not only are the pair lighter than my G35 but they are comfier and the mic quality is great.

For the mouse, I'd recommend a G700 (which is what I've used for about 1.5 years now). Best mouse I have ever used (takes a bit getting used to the battery life but it's still a great mouse).
