    Hello.
I need help choosing a tv tuner for my laptop before I go to college. I've got a phone that I use orb with right now to stream music on the computer, so now I would like to stream Tv to my phone. Right know all I know is that there are usb ones and ones that you can put into your desktop. Which one is best for a laptop?

I too and interested in a low profile TV turned for a laptop. There has to be someone around here with real-world experience.

    Do they receive digital channels?

    Thanks in advance

Hmm..didn't even realize they made these. This would enable me to watch TV through my laptop onto the monitor I just bought instead of a television?

Hey jerry can you explain the digital and analog to me?

    Thanks!

Looks like the avermedia one is getting good reviews over at newegg. :)

another question. With the avermedia one, only a portion of it will be in the expresscard slot and the majority of it will be sticking out?

you know the new digital tv , no more analog tv after next year , so whatever tuner you get make sure it is capable of receiving digital signal , or it will be useless in a short while . search this forum as there are links i posted to good sites for tv tuner info . i'm on another comp without the info , http://www.hdtvtunerinfo.com/index.html

    found it

the tuner turns your pc into a tv , your can then either watch on comp monitor or use the vga , s-video or dvi, hdmi output from your comp to watch on a tv . best pic will be with dvi or hdmi . but why connect to a tv ? tv already has a tuner

wirelessly? then get Slingbox or something

a TV tuner is like turning a LCD into a TV-LCD.... its the hardware to decode the signal...

Like Paper wastage said either use slingbox or Orb. Probably better off with orb. Free software and you can stream other things.
