I want to buy a widescreen monitor but I can't decide... it has to be:

    • WUXGA, ideally...
    • Glossy screen, yay! I wanna see the monitor spit colors at my face!
    • Preferably 17 to 20 inches, not more not less.
    • Ideal resolution: 1920×1200, but 1680×1050 will do... it HAS to be 1080p though, because I want to be able to play Xbox360 and PS3 games with it

I believe that Dell is a very solid option, but it fails to convince me. Anyone wanna share some wisdom?
What model of what brand can offer me those things? I don't want a beast of 22" because those things are too expensive and big for me, I don't wanna go over $350... Luckily I don't mind buying an used one as long as it has no dead/bright/stuck pixels :p

I can't help it but use bold, sorry Crimson. BTW that's a killer signature XD
That monitor is very nice, but I don't think it has a glossy screen :(

I've had awesome results with the Gateway FHD2400, but based on CNET's current reviews, the Dell Ultrasharp 2408wfp is now the better buy.

Those screens in my country are three times more expensive than I'm willing to pay (they are around 1000 USD)

If you're referring to the FHD2400 or Dell Ultrasharp 2408wfp, they're sold in the US at $600 or less. Might wanna check into an internet purchase as opposed to buying locally.

If you want 1080p resolutions, then you're probably going to have to go 24" or larger. Anyway, NewEgg does sell some at your specified $350 USD target price:

If you absolutely must have 1080P, then a 1680x1050 monitor is out. 24" is your minimum buy.

    24" - Dell 2408WFP, Samsung 245T.
    27" - Dell 2707WFP.
    30" - Dell 3008WFP, Samsung 305T, Apple 30", or Gateway XHD3000.

    Where do you stay?

I think I'm going for the Dell SP2009W of 20". It has a glossy display and very nice features.
The hell with the 1080p, when I really need it I'm going to rob a bank. Thanks all for your help.

    The PETA part.
That monitor looks great, but I can't seem to be able to buy it in Argentina. I can't buy it in the US because the shipping alone costs $210, making it cost over $500 and I don't wan't to spend that kinda money.
So I have no choice but to buy from Dell and may Pazuzu forgive me.

Has anyone here owned a Sceptre lcd monitor; I used to own a 20" one before I got my BenQ 24".

It had a very consumer friendly price, and I had no complaints about it till I realized I couldn't run my PS3 on it (since HDCP was just getting out of the closet then; the current models must have HDCP like everyone else by now).
Amazing company imo and needs more references given towards it.
Here is there line-up. look through the 1080p series; that's their newer lineup.

I'm sure OP can find yourself a deal among their lineup. If I was to get a new monitor away from my BenQ right now I would try Sceptre again.
