X2P i decided that i will buy either Zalman NC1000 or NC2000
I read your smackdown post, and saw that nc2000 is better.
How much is nc1000 mobile more than nc2000?
Or there isn't big difference?
thanks! -
Notebook coolers are a waste of money.
-
Actually they are not you have ZERO evidence to back up your statement.
Id be looking at the Zalman NC2000 . -
You can get better cooling with a lift.
I forgot 50 bucks is worth 2-3 degrees, cool.
Also if your machine is running past 80 the build quality wasn't so great to begin with. -
No need bashing peoples machines for running hot man thats not cool. Many peoples notebook just run hot due to the components in them. Heck its not even their fault half the time.. the Nvidia scandal causes many notebooks such as the G1s (asus) XPS 1530/1330 (Dell) etc to run at unbearable temperature and buyers have to live with it.
If you get the right cooler you can get 10C no problems.... and a quieter fan thus hit two birds with one stone -
Thanks a lot !

Stupid answers from stupid people.
The Zalman NC2000 is really nice, no matter what other people think
You won't regret it.

to some ppl, u can't put a price on comfort. the added comfort from the cooler's angle. the comfort of knowin i am helping my laptop's lifespan. the comfort of knowin i can push my laptop to the limits without worryin about fryin somethin. like x2p said, in most cases, it isn't really a poor design that causes excess heat. u have to think about all the laptops today that have very powerful hardware crammed into them.
if u haven't jumped the gun yet, i'd recommend a cryo LX for yur notebook. although the nc2000 is a nice cooler. it won't match up to the cryo LX, especially if u are a heavy user/gamer. -
Actually I recommended the Zalman as there is a major twist in the design of the base of the notebook
The silver intake is actually shut and if opened creates more heat oddly enough.
Leaving your option to hit as many of the smaller vents as possible, most at the very front of the notebook
VERY odd design -
thanks for the info. that is a pretty weird design to block off the biggest intake vent. the only thing i can think of is to create more vacuum with the silver vent covered?
-
That was my guess too but apparently it works. I wouldn't do it to most notebooks as it would have to be designed in the first place like so to work
-
hey
what about Zalman NC-1500?
http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=343
Or should I stick with NC2000?
Thanks for help
EDIT: lol, i guess nobody is selling nc1500 in the usa
i tried to find to see the price but they dont exist
-
I don't have a active cooler. All I have is a cheap laptop stand from walmart. I have noticed that my laptop does run a bit cooler just from the better airflow to the bottom vents. Anyone who wants their laptop to last should have a stand or cooler. <edit> I found the nc-1500 on newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834994079&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Accessories+-+Notebooks/Tablet+PCs-_-Zalman+Tech+Co.++Ltd-_-34994079
-
If you can drop it by 10c then its a good buy no doubt, I just see a lot of bad coolers that have either bad fan placement and/or drop the temp by 1-4c and that really shouldn't be worth the cost.
-
Well my stand cost me all of 15 dollars. And thats worth it to me.
-
15 bucks for a stand is fine, but I see some coolers on newegg that are overpriced big time
-
thats why u take yur time out to find a cooler that can accommodate yur needs and laptop's vent locations. instead of just tryin to go with a "name brand" cooler or jumpin on a bandwagon.
another thing would be to stick with tried and true coolers ie: cryo LX, nc1000/2000, infinite. -
i noticed in many reviews that there should be a slight gap between the laptop and the cooler.
-
that is pretty true. when yur laptop is sitting flush with a surface. when yur laptop has no room to breathe/vent, there will be "hot spots".
not sure about other coolers, but coolers like the cryo LX have specific designed surfaces that eliminate these "hot spots".
Help if possible tonight or tommorow mornig
