Ok, I'm normally only over in the Panny section of NBR, but I have a more general computer question. Also, excuse me if this is not in the right sub forum....

I have a Panny Toughbook CF-29 docked in my van. i use it for a carputer, for business, and for personal. I need to be able to print stuff from my van right then and there, and am looking for a printer that meets a few basic requirements....

    small(ish)/low profile
    laser or bubble
self contained (no paper support, or paper catcher sticking up/out)
    cheaper(er)(ish) (older model/used is good)
And am concerned about a few points....

    Heat issues
heat issues with the ink/toner cartridge (drying out a cartridge or turning a toner drum into a vitreous brick)
vibration from being in a car all the time/calibration

Power is not really an issue. Wireless would be cool, but not required.
also, I don't care about portable laptop ones... i'm looking to print 100pages or so a month....

Anyone know of a good one right off the bat???

    TIA!

I got an old HP laserjet 4L velcroed to the floor of my service van with a CF-30 driving it .... works great for me. although the toner sometimes settles and needs a whack or 2 on the dashboard. Inkjets/bubblejets just seem to leak all over and make a mess. I am going to try out a samsung color laser in a week or two in my second service van and can keep you updated

still packs HP's ink tanks which drop ink in a moving vehicle. after 5 years of trying, inkjets are NOT good in a vehicle application

update: after 2 days in a van the Samsung CLP-310N is doing a beautiful job lets see how a week or 2 goes

    A couple suggestions:

Canon PIXMA iP100 it does have the trays you dont like but they fold up when you close the printer which is quick to close and the overall design profile slim. I believe its designed to be portable.

This site seems to have a few other models: Portable Photo Printer Reviews ? Best HP & Canon Printers

    Finally

    PlanOn

It has bluetooth (wireless) its tiny you could pretty much mount it on you passenger side sunvisor :p

That looks perfect, and I had considered thermal, but:

wouldn't the heat from my van destroy the usability of the paper?
i'm looing into how expensive/availability of the paper.....

THANKS! If my hot van isn't a problem, and the paper is readily/economicly available, I'll go for one of those....

    Now, to find one cheap.....

I'm about to go buy a samsung ml-2010 for $10 off a guy near my house.
for $10, who gives a rat's ace???? (he says it works)
