    Help me pick a notebook security lock. Keyed or combination?

    The first question is keyed or combination? Which do you prefer? I read on this site and elsewhere that combo locks sometimes "forget" their combination!

    Also, youtube has lots of videos showing how to defeat both keyed and combo types within seconds (not including simply snipping the cables). I realize that these things are merely visual deterrents, but all else being equal which is harder to defeat?

    Any brands/models you recommend? Why?

    There are tons of cheap Chinese no-name locks on ebay. Are the big brands (Kensington, Targus, Fellowes, APC, etc.) really worth the extra money bearing in mind that they also are made in China?
