    Hello,
I'd like your help in telling Microsoft they need a device like Apple's Airport Express. A wifi networked device that lets you stream audio to a receiver over wifi, and use your WindowsPHone or ZuneHD as a remote. Microsoft has plenty of solutions for streaming if you have a TV, like xbox, roku, WD TVLive, etc. but nothing if you just want to stream music to a stereo.

If you agree that Microsoft should compete in this area, please go to the WindowsPhone users voice website, sign up, and vote for my suggestion. It's in the accessories category. Signing up is very easy, you can use your twitter or facebook id. If you're interested in WindowsPHone you should vote for whatever other features you'd like to see added to the platform. This is Microsoft's way of taking suggestions.
    Thanks :)

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you mean; I have a Roku Soundbridge device that streams audio from any of my networked computers to my stereo (the roku outputs simple analog audio RCA cables). It doesn't use wifi but it is an older unit (it uses ethernet). It comes with its own remote that obviously does not offer the functionality that a smartphone based remote would offer, but it works fairly well.

What exactly do you mean when you say that they have solutions for streaming to a TV but not a stereo?

As opposed to, what, the Apple stink of Fairplay (which is now pretty much moot, just as the original DNA :p of DLNA is)?

If you know of a DLNA device that:
    - costs around $50
    - has wifi
    - has analog audio output
    - can work without a tv
    - is compatible with Windows Media Player "Play To" feature

    Please let me know.

Well between apple and sony, apple is lesser of the evils.
