Hi, i just yesterday ordered the following wire:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/1-8M-VGA-LE...NZ68/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1332158124&sr=8-3

First query is that the slots for the RCA cables on my TV are RED YELLOW GREEN, will it make a difference that the colours of this cable are different, and if so, which colours from the wire to i plug in to the colours (RED YELLOW GREEN) plugs on TV?

Then what shall i do, i understand so far that i will have to connect the VGA cable to my laptop wich has a slot for it, the three RCA colored wires will then be connected to the TV then what?? Will the image from the laptop automatically appear on TV screen or will i have to do something????

Moved to accessories, also you're not allowed to bump your posts before 24 hours per the forum rules. It can sometimes take a while for someone who knows the answer to come by.

Ideally, if it's an HDTV, i'd recommend using HDMI.

You will have to set the display to the VGa output on your laptop. Windows will likely detect the new display on it's own and ask you what to do with it. You a fn+F key combination to switch the displays in any case.

The yellow is for composite input. Component video will always have red green and blue plugs and will often be in a group of 4 on a TV - i.e. yellow red green blue to cater for composite and component.

A smarter way, as tijo pointed out, is HDMI.
