Just bought a fujitsu N6410 T2400 with the built in TV tuner and find that watching tv through the media center is quite nifty feature but I just don't see myself using it quite often.
So anyway I am trying to figure out how to record my recorded show on my cable dvr and archive it to a cd/dvd but can't seem to figure how to do it. Tried some vid editng software but
I kept getting a message that says "AverMedia USB Capture could not open" in sony vegas when trying to capture video and "the video device is currently in use" when I try to capture video in win movie maker even though there is no other programs running. Anyone knows why? I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to solve my video capturing saga. From the device manager it says that I have an AverMedia USB MPEG-2 Capture Device.

I had the same problem. I'am using a Dish Network DVR. then i pass the recordings to my HP DV 9040us laptop. hen i try to burn the recordings to a DVD i receive a "you don't have sufficient permisson" error. what i think is that the recordings are copywright protected and they cant be copied.
