Help. I have a portable HD storage that I bought about a year ago. It doesn't have its own power supply so I always use a desktop's usb to open this little booger. Just recently, I have not been unable to open the HD. The last time I did open it was during transferring a large amount of digital pictures from my vacation. Since then, I haven't been able to access the drive.

Any ideas as to how I can fix this problem? I have so many valuable data in it; I'd hate to lose them all!

    Thanks.

I'm assuming this is one of those 2.5" external drives that uses 2 USB ports to draw power... If I were you, I'd pick up a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE converter and take the drive out of the enclosure and try just directly hooking it up to my desktop with an IDE cable and molex connector (the adaptor will take that too, to power the drive).
