you get a better price on sennheiser than canada(hmm, most places do anyways, lol), i am sure you will enjoy IE8 as it is easy on machine and easy on music.
if you decided to want something a little more neutral than ie8, consider ie7![]()

- I can hopefully get someinformation about shop prices monday/tuesday. (The merrits of family)
And then I'll have to see - arg - I want to go to Germany now - not just in about 2-3 weeks(optimistic view)
-
Most armature only go up to 16-17khz.
IMO IE8 are warm and bassy so it's not going to be good for classical music but It's your choice. -
for classical there has never been dispute over there in head-fi: er4p(or s w/ amp)
it is one of the few occasion where no one even bothered to argue. -
-
- I know, I may find detail in my music that I have not yet heard - I'll have to see.
-
have a look that the last 3 on this page ive only heard one stunning review for the e9's, but nothing about the others. might be preferable to IEMs, especially for comfort.
-
Anyway - the IE8 have been ordered on Amazon - at 205 its a good price compared to shops - and sold by Amazon, not a merchant on Amazon.
It'll possibly be another 2-3 weeks before I can use them though- they'll be waiting at my grandfather's place
-
If you don't like what you bought, you might want to look at the Sony PFR-V1.
They arn't like any other headphones, never seen them in person, but they have some very impressive reviews. -
Monster Turbines are supposed to be very, very good, and at long last a product by Monster that isn't overpriced.
-
I have:
Shure E3C ~ clean natural sound, lacking in bass
UE Super.fi 5 Pro ~ excellent sound including bass, comfort factor could be better
Shure SE530 ~ supreme sound, excellent comfort, cabling could be better
If you can find a good deal on the 530's then that''s what I'd recommend overall. Drop the "PTH" and save yourself another $50 or so. Often earphonesolutions.com will have a good deal (I got mine 40% off last November) and they are an excellent online source to transact with. -

have you tried modding your ex85?
-
And as I said - the IE8 were ordered on Amazon de - should arrive today - which means I can't wai to visit my grandfather- and grandmother and maybe meet some old friends...
Edit:
Little Update - the Sennheiser IE8 are waiting for me - now I only have to come to them. (they are with my grandfather in Germany - I am still in the UK) -
Try the m-audio xb-20's if you get the chance, and the shure em-30's

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f103/sony-ex90-modding-thread-193464/
ex90 and ex85 are very similar, the mod can be applied to both. i am going to try mod my ex85 when i get some candle wax and earbud foam. unfortunately the ex85s don't fit my ears well, i get no isolation at all with them, tried all the tips too. -
But I think I'd possibly break something doing this...
AndI have my IE8 waiting for me- I just need to get to Germany
- they are with my grandfather.
-
-
- the X1060
- so I'll have a set of hadphones technically identical to my EX85 - only with a microphone on top for active noise cancelling - I may do that in the future... let's see. - I think I'll save the link.
Thanks -
get your grandfather to burn in your ie8 until you arrive, it will sound much much better afdter 200hrs
-
-
Yeah, I don't think you'll notice any difference after 10 hours. Even some of the headphones that require burn in more than the others(ultrasone as an example). More than 20 hours of burn in isn't all that noticeable. Some say that it takes 100's of hours but I've used headphones that easily had 300 hours on them and it still took me a good 20 hours for my brain to 'burn-in' the sound signature of them. I think thats the most important part.
