Ok... I've purchased my XPS2 and it is currently on order to me... Now to protect and transport it. I am looking for a list, or ideas of what the highest quality transportation carrying cases are out there. I am not too worried on the price (below around $200.00 is ok), although less $$$ is always better. I will be transporting this heavy laptop quite a bit, and am trying to find something that will make this an easier task for me, as well as get the most protection. I will also need to be able to, if possible, have it look as good as possible as I will be taking it into executive offices. One of the companies that I am currently looking at is Boog.

    Any ideas/comments are welcome.

    Thanks,

    -Rich

P.S. One of the ways that I have to transport it is around campus at RIT.

Starting with the list that I have found (XPS2 =15.5 in, 11.3 in, 1.67):

    Booq:

    FoleeMessenger17: $159.95
    PowerSleeveXXL $64.95
    2006 Boa.XL, black $159.95

Not sure if there worth the money, but it's a start to the thread list.

The Boog cases are very nice. For an alternative check out the
McKlein C Series Monroe Nylon 17" Laptop Backpack at
    http://www.ebags.com/mcklein/c_seri...ckpack/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=57799 or
    http://tinyurl.com/c3r7y

Very sturdy case, plenty of pockets for storing items: PDA, cables, thumb drives, folders, pens, water bottles etc

    Use one myself.

i recently bought this from Fry's Electronics for about 30-35 dollars. its relatively cheap compared to the other brands.

outside cover (pretty light for this big bag)

    brand

inside (my i9300 fits nicely in there. a little free space but its good)

also its not rough on the inside so it doesnt scratch up your laptop. thats the good thing.

i defintely like it. oh btw it has a strap with it i forgot to take a picture of.

Oh, an added stipulation that I forgot to mention. It has to survive the hard, cold snow, of upstate new york. :base:

Why do plan on laying your backpack with your laptop down in the snow often? :)

Any decent backpack these days, either nylon or leather, should be alright as long as you arnt keeping them in the cold for hours at a time. Just get something well made and you should be fine.

I am not laying it in the snow, but I do have to walk around campus, which could be about 30 mins - an hour. But other than that, this guy one time told me that it would make my laptop soo... cool! (jk)

P.S: I looked at the Mobile Edge 17" model. It's pretty nice, but it won't fit the xps2 ;/.

I recommend going to www.ebags.com and browse for a bag. Hope that helps.

Targus is always an excellent brand. I believe they got the XL which is designed for 17" widescreened notebooks.
