I would like to connect my laptop to my hdtv but have no clue how to go about it. I would appreciate any assistance such as cable(s) to purchase and if I need to install any programs for it to work properly.

I have a Sharp Aquos 32" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV Model: LC-32GP1U with the following inputs:

    Inputs: 3 HDMI (1 side, 2 rear), 2 HD component (1 side, 1 rear), 1 DVI, 1 S-video, 3 composite video (1 side, 2 rear), 4 audio (1 side, 3 rear).

Following link is the television I purchased; http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8274388&type=product&id=1171057791721

I have a Compaq Presario 15.4" Widescreen Laptop Mode: CPQ F730US

Following link is the laptop I purchased; http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Comp...91765/catOid/-12963/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Any help to get these two working together would be great. Thanks in advance.

will carry your video (assuming your laptop has a VGA out... almost positive that it does). Just plug the three other ends into the side/back of the TV in the corresponding colors.

will carry your audio from your headphone/speaker jack to the audio inputs of your tv (be it on the back or side).

edit: after reading a bit, I'm not sure the video cable would work. I'd say it's worth the three dollars and change to find out... I'll keep looking.
