I'm going to be using a laptop on my lap in bed at a slight angle and I don't want the laptop to slip
And I wan't want the bottom of the laptop's bottom to be touching a solid/no-hole surface

In the past, I would use a laptop cooler on my lap in that position not for the cooling but because it has holes in it and the bottom of the laptop doesn't get as hot on the bottom --because even without the cooling, there is still air underneath the laptop. If you put a book underneath a laptop, the top of the book would get hot.

    1. Problem with laptop coolers is they often don't have something on the top to prevent the laptop from sliding

    2. Alot of laptop coolers don't have a comfy surface on the bottom to rest on your lap

What is some common household object or next cheapest thing that could accomplish what I'm looking for?

I think a lap tray with a padded bottom would be better. They usually have a very small rim around the edge to stop things sliding off - not as big as the edge on the normal trays.

Also some tray/coolers have a fold out place to use your mouse on.
