How is the mouse for Day-to-day tasks and Digital Chart reading?

I got it for my dad since it has Horizontal scroll and is Laser (he doesnt use mousepads)

and he wanted a Wired mouse since he already has wireless.

The mouse is small (notebook sized) so if you have big hands and don't mind a small mouse then you are good to go!

It works very well for spreadsheets to scroll horizontally and also in webpages.

I currently use it on my TX2000 (even thought it has touch screen!) but this is because I play CounterStrike 1.6 on the machine. :D

The laser means it can be used on different surfaces without a mousemat, it seems to work quite well on the bed sheets as long as its flat enough ;) !

If you want to install the logitech drivers, it is best to download them directly from their driver downloads page to get the most recent and get full support for the max dpi.

As it is wired, the cable might be a bit annoying at first because it'll seem a bit stiff due to it being zig-zag & tied when in the package, but it will loosen up when you shape it a few times.

    I recommend this mouse! :)

edit: be right back, re-testing the side scroll, I didn't have the drivers installed on this toshiba notebook

edit again: back, have to goto the mouse setting and select the 'Set Point Settings' which is the logitech's own settings panel. Click on the centre scroll wheel and set it to 'universal scroll'. now you can use the horizontal scroll.

Yes, the drivers / settings panel is for ALL logitech pointing devices, so if you install them and plug in a G3 and a V150 like I have done, it will detect them both and have a drop down box to what device you wish to change settings for.

I can't seem to find the DPI settings, but if I remember correctly, the packaging said 800-1600dpi  , but I threw away the packaging :p .
