Just curious. I ask because i've gotten annoyed by accidentally touching the mouse pad with my finger and messing up while i'm typing.
I'm now considering buying a wireless Microsoft mouse for my laptop.

Wrong section? PM a mod to get it moved...
EDIT: I use a regular mouse, not even a notebook one. A razer diamondback. Well you should be able to switch ''tap to click'' off.
EDIT2: Thanks Kevin -

Also check your mouse properties and see if you have an option called "tap off when typing". Make sure that option is selected...it should stop the cursor from selecting lines, windows ect when typing.
BTW, I only use a regular optical mouse when playing FPS/RTS games... -
When I use my laptop at home(rarely I have a desktop) I have a usb mouse for it. On the go at school i use the touchpad. im probably going to get a new usb mouse, i really hate touchpad. hurts my hand. ;p

I got used to the touchpad ages ago and now I find that using a mouse with a laptop to be slow and odd - the touchpad is just closer and more convenient, IMO. But both of my kids won't use the laptop without a mouse!

My touchpad is approximately 15/8" by 13/8". My index finger is 4.5" long and little over half an inch wide. I despise using the touchpad.
That's why I use a USB mouse, keyboard, with a 21" CRT monitor. Makes my life a hell of a lot easier. -

Use touchpad when i'm mobile, like, when i bring my laptop around, or to my bed. use mouse when i'm at my desk, or playing any games.
-
I admit I haven't used my touchpad yet.
Always a USB mouse.
-
Mouse FTW!
-
I use the mouse on my palm rests when I have no hard clean smooth surface.

Shadowfate Wala pa rin ako maisip e.
I only use my touchpad when there is no mouse. but that only happens when I forget it or I did not really bring it
-
I always use my track pad, only use a mouse if I am playing a game
-
i use a wireless notebook mouse when i have enough space for one,
if not im usually on the touch pad -
I always use my wireless notebook mouse whenever possible - preferring all the programmable buttons and the scroll wheel on it. I only use the touch pad for really, really quick things if I don't have a desk or something.
-
I'm finding myself always switching between my ThinkPad's TrackPoint and TrackPad plus an incredibly ancient Microsoft notebook mouse and a Wacom tablet. Each input devices has its benefits and drawbacks and none of them can completely replace the other three.
-
hmm I always use the touch pad so I don't have to reach the mouse in a wierd way cause I rarely sit at a desk with my lappy
-
Yeah I use a "normal" mouse, M$ Wirelss laser mouse 5000.
I can't stand using the touchpad, especially as I play a lot of FPS's (MoH, CoD etc.) on my laptop.
The only time I use the touchpad is when I can't be bothered to connect my mouse or I don't have the room to. -

touchpad when im mobile, mouse when im at my desk.
I really dont mind using my touchpad, but certain tasks demand a mouse (CAD, photoshop, gaming) in which event, mouse it is. -
i hate touchpad. one of my friends swears by it wtf? she sucks with a mouse though so whatever.
i use an intellimouse 3.0 -
i dislike the touchpad, i wish my HP there were more built-in trackball options as opposed to touchpads.
VX Revo for me. -
I use the mouse most of the time. If I'm just using my laptop for a minute or two, I'll just use the touchpad. Also if I'm lazy and don't feel like getting out the mouse.
-
I use the touchpad mainly, and I use my mouse if I am mobile or something, or sitting at my desk and don't feel like using the touchpad
Cin -
I don't use the touchpad. Or a mouse.
Trackpoints rule -
When I am on the go I use the touchpad it takes some getting use to at first but i eventually got use to using it. now if I am at home and gaming then I use a mouse. the touchpad is kind of difficult to use when gaming.
-
I tend to use a mouse when working in Excel. Other than that, I usually just use the touchpad.
-
mouse when possible.
-
Mouse whenever I'm at my desk, be it for Notepad or playing a game. Trackpad when I'm away from my desk.
Wired Microsoft USB mouse, btw. Nothing fancy. -
I use Mouse 'cuz i am more comfortable with a Mouse Then a TouchPad ;D
-
When docked I use a 22" Samsung 226BW display, a FANG gaming pad, and a RAZER DeathAdder mouse.
I'll probably add a keyboard too. (Once I find one that I like, the stock keyboard on the T61p is great but I don't want to wear it out). -
I never use the touch pad unless I have no viable choice but to use it, it's mouse all the way for me.
-
Only use a mouse (Logitech V470 Bluetooth) when I'm at home, at work when using my notebook it's all touchpad with the speed on maximum
-
I hate touchpads, i use a 70$ Logitech Laser precision mouse to play games and for internet browsing.
-
I rarely use any mouse at all, I'm pretty much a keyboard shortcut freak. But I use my touchpad for scroll quickly down a page, instead of the arrow or PgUp/PgDn keys. But when I do use a most, for gaming purposes or when I want to sit back and be lazy, I have a Logitech G5. In love with the mouse.
How many use a regular mouse instead of the touch pad?
